Preferences: User Agents

Changing the User Agent for your browser from its proper setting to another is called Spoofing.  This is not bad or wrong.  It may be necessary if your web apps don't allow browsers or apps that are not within a small listing of acceptable applications.

The drop down list is for selecting the User Agent to edit.

You can add your favorite application or browser that is not included.  We have found that Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer 6 will cover most Web Apps.

Hana uses Apple's Webkit rendering engine so setting this to Safari is not completely disingenuous.  Hana will render just about all content, probably all, just as Safari would.  We love Apple!

Spoofing web apps is mostly safe.  Web App publishers restrict access mostly due to presentation issues, in our experience, however, from time to time, very real problems exist.  Spoof carefully and at your own risk!
